The Goal is to prepare our athletes for the demands of football. Some coaches will say it’s too structured and others will say it’s too sloppy. Maybe there is beauty in the balance. Nick DiMarco

Triple jump is a more intensive drill to the triple broad jump, incorporating rhythm and timing. The coordination aspect of it, along with the RFD component, make it an invaluable special strength drill to improve early acceleration.

Awesome to be back on the field tonight for our 1st scrimmage. Excited to get my 1st play as a Bear. Blessed with 4/4 on PATs and 2/2 of FGs (37, 40) tonight. Loved the effort of the entire team. Great job holding Austin Sykes. Coach Matt McCullough Coach Brian Jackson Kendall Brest

Best thing/story I’ve seen so far on my camp tour. A little backstory. Mike Tomlin was driving in his car when he saw these kids fighting in the street. Tomlin pulls over and the kids, in obvious shock at who stepped out of the car, stopped fighting. (Read full story below)

Devon Allen hasn’t played football since 2016. He’s been running fast (in the Olympics) and it translates to the field. In case you’re wondering why Uncle Tony wants you to “Feed the Cats”

We are starting a new set of data that includes the fastest run for each player. We timed 28 players on 8/23 with 21 cracking 18 MPH or higher! This will be kept separate from their rolling averages. #RUNBEARSRUN

Just had a FTC 🏈 coach report this after two games. Muscle Cramps Us: 1 Opponents: 18 It’s simple. If your team is tired every day in practice, your CNS will not be ready for game speeds. Can’t practice in 3rd gear and survive 5th gear in games. 🚫 bananas 🚫 conditioning

After a big win last Friday, there’s no better way to kick off week #3 of the season than with some MaxV work! We sprint twice a week all season long and never condition. No cramps, no pulled hamstrings. Just fast, fresh, #ApexPredators! 💨💪 #WaterIt #SpeedWins #FTC #TigerPride

Monitoring max velocity and implementing a max velocity warm-up have really helped in the reduction of soft tissue injuries. simplifaster.com/articles/maxim… via SimpliFaster

I think Cooper Kupp is a great example for youth athletes 1. “Sprint fast to get fast.” You heard the man. Who knew it could be that simple? 2. He keeps the main thing the main thing. Minimal gimmicks 3. I love how he understands the output - skill dynamic s/o John Griffin

that time oklahoma’s mike leach created an entirely fake play sheet to go up 17-0 on texas. it’s far and away my favorite leach story. he was the only one crest enough to ever do it.
