US immigration officials picked up a blind Rohingya refugee last week in Buffalo, NY. Then, realizing they had no basis to deport him, they released him five miles from his home. He needed a walking stick and died trying to make his way back to his house: investigativepost.org/2026/02/25/bli…

Still can't really process that border patrol made the decision to leave a nearly-blind refugee outside a donut shop five miles from his house. And that he then (as could have easily been imagined) died. And that there likely won't be any accountability for this.

I can’t stop thinking about the last five days of Nurul Amin Shah Alam’s life. He was wandering around cold, hungry, confused and alone. Sick and slowing dying. He survived an actual genocide only to die in America due to the incompetence & cruelty of this regime.

Reminder as Trump says US troops may die: none of this had to happen. Obama had a comprehensive plan (JCPOA) to limit and track Iran’s nuclear capacity. Trump tore it up in 2017 with no back up plan at all. He never replaced it. Now we’re stuck striking Iran every 6 months.

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact. How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.

I’ve always believed that one of our jobs as leaders is to pass the baton on to the next generation –– and to give them the resources and support they need to lead us forward. On National Run for Office Day, check out @RFSCivics for the resources you need. runforsomethingcivics.net

"Welcome to my old neighborhood." Our NASA Artemis II astronauts woke up on the sixth day of their mission to a special message recorded in 2025 by astronaut Jim Lovell, the pilot of Apollo 8.

A new milestone for humankind: The crew of Artemis II are now the farthest any human has ever travelled, reaching a maximum distance of 252,752 miles from Earth. This surpasses the previous record set by Apollo 13 in 1970 by about 4,102 miles.

"Integrity and Carroll Crater, loud and clear"❤️‍🩹 They named a crater after Reid's wife. I'm sobbing. Jeremy said, "it's a bright spot on the moon"
