My guess for the new supply chain attack targets in 2021: - GitHub Actions - VS Code extensions GitHub really shouldn't allow version tags of published Actions to change. I have no ideas for VS Code, extensions are hard, as browsers know.

Perhaps a first step towards the right direction could be to remove the refund mechanism? That would make gas token and it's clones moot, which would in turn stop bloating the state every time there's lower gas price. EIP1554 could counter balance it by stabilizing fees?
