Wow wow wow!! This book is AMAZINGLY INCREDIBLE!! I knew it would be cause Sara Sheridan is a genius with words, history & creating characters, but it still blew me away. I feel like I’ve come back from being in Glasgow in the 1840s & I’m not sure how to cope at the moment!

This is a terrific book. Go along if you can!

My drawing is nearly finished. I've grown very attached to this ancient and mighty oak tree. Soon it will spring into leaf, quite possibly for the 400th time – one of nature's great spectacles. I can't wait.
