This is a fatuous argument. First, it ignores the influence problem. But second, merely within the scope of data, 1P data in the TikTok context is more valuable than what can be purchased from data brokers, which is often of dubious provenance and can’t easily be matched.

Going over the various summaries of the DoJ / Google ad tech trial, it's striking that 1) all witnesses rejected the idea that open web and social inventory are fungible and 2) all witnesses represented web publishers and/or web-specialist agencies. Surely this introduces a bias?
