#Erin is one of the fastest-strengthening Atlantic hurricanes on record. It’s likely not to make to landfall—but will cause high winds, rain, and dangerous rip currents along mid-Atlantic.

Don’t underestimate #Erin. While hundreds of miles offshore, it is likely to cause breaking waves of 15 to 20 feet. Coastal flooding and storm surges could flood homes and make some roads impassable.

Did you know that of all hurricane hazards, 1⃣6⃣ percent of deaths are due to rip currents and violent waves? Bottom line: stay out of the water if you are at a beach on the East Coast.
