Year 6 have written their hopes for the future, linked to the jubilee year, as part of their ‘make your mark’ on St Peter’s. This lovely tree will be displayed in our chapel.

We have been finding and interpreting passages from the Bible which include a shepherd. We have learned about the different literary forms in the Bible and have been deciding which genre each passage is. Excellent deep thinking, Year 6.

This morning we have looked at images from the flooding in Fishlake and Toll Bar. We have had rich discussions and generated fantastic vocabulary for our newspaper articles

Year 6 have prepared high quality questions, and they are now using these to role play an interview with a flood victim. This is developing their oracy skills, and they will use the quotations in their newspaper articles

Year 6 have learned to locate where different natural disasters have occurred using a map. They have also learned about different lines of longitude and latitude

Year 6 have been working hard to write the first drafts of their newspaper reports about the flooding in Fishlake. We are looking forward to editing and publishing them next week

Some superb work this morning from Year 6, who are writing speeches inspired by their work on creation about the importance of human dignity. They are bringing in examples from their studying on Catholic Social Teaching and from Bible stories about how Jesus set a good example
