STATED THREAD 🧵 Today, the Council passed my Resolution 368, urging Congress to pass the Living Wage for Musicians Act. Musicians currently earn less than a third of a cent per stream. The LWMA would raise streaming payouts & ensure fair pay for artists who power our playlists.

Big thanks to United Musicians and Allied Workers for their tireless organizing to get this across the finish line. Passing the Living Wage for Musicians Act at the federal level is key to making NYC more affordable for working musicians—to live, create, and thrive in the music capital of the world.
