Humpback whales working together to corral fish in a spiral net of bubbles, using vocal signals to coordinate. This amazing behavior is learned, not instinctual; not all humpback pods know how to bubble net feed. Credit: Richard Sidey

View of Mauna Loa lava flow from the Saddle Road that connects the west side of the Big Island to the east side, last night. Lava remains about 3 miles from the highway, but it's getting closer on a daily basis. reddit.com/gallery/z9hb5i

50 years ago, the Apollo 17 astronauts captured an iconic Earth view of the “Blue Marble” as they set sights on the Moon. Today with #Artemis, this time-lapse footage showcases the Earth-Moon transit as Orion Spacecraft captured our home planet and the Moon on flight day 13.

There was a time quite recently when Bogaerts would've stayed in Boston for $200 million easy. But, yet again, Boston fumbled that chance away.

This is the moment Mars peeked out from behind our moon after being hidden for an hour. This shot was captured using my largest telescope and a special high-speed camera. Seeing another planet rising on the horizon of our moon was such a surreal experience.

A long series of negotiating missteps and market misreads paved the way for the Red Sox to lose Xander Bogaerts to the Padres. bostonglobe.com/2022/12/08/spo… via The Boston Globe

Well, my son cried today when I told him Xander wasn’t going to be on the Red Sox anymore. I suspect he wasn’t the only one. I can only say that you’d be hard pressed to find a finer, kinder ballplayer. He made every single day at the yard much more fun, and we will all miss him.

It’s a longer clip, but it is worth it to honor #HelenSlaytonHughes who has passed away at the age of 92. #MarionCotesworthHaye #TheWestWing

West coast teams must have started a “collect the whole set” competition featuring people the Red Sox should have kept in Boston and didn’t. 😭

Never, ever sell a device to gazelle.com. I tried to trade in a phone a they mis-identified it and tried to give me way less than promised. I’ve called three times but phone reps seem powerless and won’t connect me to a supervisor. An absolute travesty.
