Mrs. Barrick surprised us as our first mystery reader in December! Her favorite animal is a squirrel, so it made sense that she chose a book to share with us about what squirrels do when we’re not looking! 🐿 @BarricksBunch

AJ’s grandma, Nana Bruno, surprised our class (but especially AJ!) as a mystery reader this afternoon. We listened to the Dragons Love Tacos 2 book. We read the first book earlier this year, so we were super excited to read this one! What a great way to wrap up this week! 🌮🐉

Averie’s older sister, Haylee, surprised us as our first mystery reader of 2023. Haylee is a freshman at BSHS and Averie was SHOCKED to see her big sister walk through our classroom door. We love having mystery readers visit us every Friday afternoon!🤩

Troy’s mom-mom read a sweet story to our class about the love between a mother and her child. Troy had no idea that she was our Friday afternoon mystery reader until she walked through our classroom door! He wore a HUGE smile on his face the rest of the day! ❤️😃

Our January Monthly Motivator had us “gaming” in the afternoon! Super proud of the hard work and SOARing behavior these kiddos exhibit every month to earn a well-deserved reward.♟🎲

We love mentoring our Kindergarten friends from Ms. Phelan’s class! We worked hard on practicing correct sentence structure and mechanics. We’re looking forward to visiting their classroom in February! @jphelanteach

Our first mystery reader of February was AJ’s older sister, Camilla! She’s a 4th grade student at BSES. AJ wasn’t expecting to see her big sis walk through our classroom door - Camilla’s clues sure stumped her! We listened to a wonderful story about snowmen & their shenanigans!⛄️

Our Friday mystery reader didn’t travel very far to be our reader…she’s right next door! Second grade teacher, Mrs. Feeser, read us a silly book that had us giggling on a Friday afternoon. It’s great to listen to stories with our friends from other classes! 🤩 @LindsayFeeser

Mrs. Shambach, one of BSES’s incredible reading specialists, surprised us this afternoon as our first mystery reader of March! She read us a funny book that taught us that it’s fine to be grumpy because better times are ahead! 🧡🙉

This week is Ag Literacy Week! Jayne Sebright, Executive Director for the Center for Dairy Excellence, was our mystery reader today. She gave our class amazing resources! We also had members of Bermudian’s FFA visit us earlier this week! 🚜🐄🌽 Center For Dairy Excellence National FFA

Our huge smiles can be contributed to a FANTASTIC trip to the Scholastic Book Fair. We truly appreciate the BSES PTO for providing spending money in order to put books in our hands & make this fun event a memorable experience! Thank you! ❤️📕 @bses_pto

Papa Oswalt, Xander’s grandfather, surprised us this morning as our first mystery reader of April. He traveled (along with Xander’s Nana) from ARIZONA to visit our class. Xander was super excited to see his grandparents walk through our classroom door! 📕

We had an AMAZING field trip to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. We learned a lot about aquatic animals & we’re energized to continue working on our aquatic animal projects back at BSES. Much thanks to our parent chaperones & the BSES PTO for supporting this field trip! 🐠💙

12th Annual Digs in the Dirt Tournament

We had a blast making sparkly slime for our April Monthly Motivator! I’m so proud of these kiddos for the hard work & effort they exhibit each month to participate in these fun events!🤩

We started our “10 Day Count-Up to 3rd Grade” today! Our first balloon pop revealed a picnic lunch outside on this beautiful day. The students are super excited and curious as to what other activities are hidden inside the balloons! 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈

The Second Grade Aquatic Animal Exhibit was such a fun event! We enjoyed presenting our informational books and showcasing our incredible projects. Thanks to our family and friends for coming out this evening and supporting us! 🐠🦀🐟🐳🐬🦞🦑🐙
