#CPR is the cornerstone of survival for cardiac arrest, yet one crucial aspect of CPR quality is never discussed πŸ«€ Here's why we need to rethink a one-size fits all approach to CPR and why "push hard and fast with full recoil" isn't good enough in 2024. A 🧡 #foamed

The Association of Anaesthetists have published new guidelines on blood components & their alternatives! Tranexamic acid has been proven to ⬇️ bleeding in most surgical settings. But what dose of TXA should you use in different clinical contexts? #anaesthesia #haematology

Doesn’t feel like 5 years since we had to learn to don PPE, to work in it all day & make it last because supplies were short. People have different opinions about what happened, we all lost so much. I can only say that in 27 years as a doctor it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen

A common error in the ICU/ED we see: intubating patients on BIPAP after 4 hours (or even less!) that look comfortable JUST because their blood gas isn't improving. Retweet if you have seen this practice yourself! Check out my recorded discussion with Paul Cameron quoted below

Brilliant day of multidisciplinary learning at our UKMCS Trainees' day in Manchester. Particular focus on the MDT, shared decision-making, high-risk cases and avoiding over-medicalisation where possible Saint Mary's at MFT
