Thirteen weeks since EHCP annual review when we told the Post 16 SEND officer which college course my son had applied for and we’re no closer to knowing if he has the placement for next year. Nobody replies to emails or phone messages. So frustrating and unfair!

My chronically ill son starts his GCSEs today. He is sitting them at home with an invigilator but will struggle to manage a 2 hour (inc extra) English paper when he’s not managed to concentrate for more than an hour in years due to fatigue/fog. Our exam system is not inclusive!

Despite EHCP for chronic illness, son’s new college say he can’t have gradual build up of hours - he has to go in until he’s unwell and can then leave. Crashed big-time after 2 weeks and hasn’t accessed any lessons for a week. Unfair, unkind and makes no sense. #post16 #SEND

The reasons my son’s transition to college is going badly is that we were let down by LA SEND team, his EHCP is useless and the college are not interested in being properly inclusive or equitable. Getting him on the course was a real struggle and I’m now thinking it was a mistake

The college said that they are not allowed by the course accreditation body to deliver any learning remotely or over Teams. This is contrary to his EHCP and means when he’s off he gets nothing. I’ve contacted this accreditation body and asked them! Disability discrimination?

My 82 yr old mother tells me she went to the doctor because of headache, body aches and sore throat. Did he tell you to do a Covid test I asked - no he didn’t mention it, said it’s a virus!!! I’m rather bewildered

Is it normal to still be upset the day after an EHCP Annual Review? Not one positive thing said by son’s college, opposite to his tutor feedback a few weeks ago. I don’t know if they are just trying to protect their results but they don’t want him for Y2 even if he passes Y1!
