One in three already contemplate suicide.

DWP's relentless pursuit of those who've mistakenly claimed will only make things worse.

Me in The Guardian, with thanks to Josh Halliday for covering this complex issue.

🗣️ Almost two thirds of people in destitution live with a chronic health condition or disability. Cutting people’s eligibility for benefits won't help.

The PM's speech was an irresponsible war of words on people who already aren’t getting enough support.

Today's news feels like an assault on disabled people.

We are in a cost-of-living crisis. Government looking to slash disabled people’s income by hitting personal independence payment (PIP) is a horrific proposal.

It's dangerous and risks leaving disabled people destitute.

‘Humiliated’: carer made to pay back £3.8k after mistake declaring income.

Why? Calculating income monthly rather than weekly.

This has to stop.

My The Guardian story (with Matthew Pearce ): Half a million unpaid carers in the UK looking after frail, ill and disabled loved ones are failing to claim the £4,200-a-year carer’s allowance despite experiencing high levels of poverty, estimates show theguardian.com/society/2024/a…

Please could I ask my followers on here to sign this petition. Young disabled people aged 16-18, like my son, should have transport to school. Thank you.

Half a million carers not claiming Carers Allowance.

Why? It’s eligibility rules and application forms.

You only have to see the current stories of carer overpayments to put you off claiming.

Some bleak Office for National Statistics (ONS) stats on unpaid care. Carers have it worse from a health perspective than non-carers, and the more hours of unpaid care you provide, the worse your health is likely to be compared to non-carers.

This is ABSOLUTELY the best thing we’ve read on overpayments EVER.

Go Laura! 💪

'Carers across the UK are unsung heroes who make a huge difference to someone else’s life...'
Department for Work and Pensions FYI: we're not heroes, we have no choice. This is shameful. Thank you Josh Halliday The Guardian for exposing this.
