It is bizarre and speaks volumes that the biggest “risk” in management eyes is the inquest and adverse publicity. The risk is with your poor management and desire to avoid scrutiny at all costs. DENIAL IS TGE THIEF OF ALL LEARNING!!

Well, all I can say is some years ago CEO MorecambeBayNHSTrust wanted to meet me after I made an adverse comment on here X but then days later he suddenly changed his mind. He's 'Teflon coated' by NHS England so he still gets away with this⬇️behaviour. Amanda Pritchard permits this conduct😡

After 2 days of intense meetings, I’m disgusted to say nothing has changed at either Trust involved in mine and Grace’s care. 3 years of false promises of improvement, yet we’re still in the same place. Maternity services must do better, or more babies will die like Grace.

There is big report out tomorrow from LlaisWales on Maternity @swanseabaynhs. It’s embargoed until midnight so can’t share specifics. I can say though I have cried three times reading it. So many issues, so much harm & issues we warned them on years ago. No one listened.

Much stronger national leadership is needed to improve the safety of maternity and neonatal services. The response from government and policymakers so far has simply not been good enough. theguardian.com/society/2025/m…

It seems that the government's response to the NHS killing 800 babies a year is to train thousands more midwives. This isn't just sticking a plaster on a broken leg, this could make things a lot worse. 1/

How could a police investigation into Nottingham baby deaths stop staff talking openly when they never really started? A huge part of NUH maternity failings has been a culture of lies and cover ups. Jeremy should know this as he was told it directly by families when he was

Planned birth (both caesarean and IOL) at 39 weeks versus expectant management in low-risk women reduces perinatal mortality and other severe adverse outcomes. Strongest neonatal and maternal safety benefits seen with planned caesarean birth. thelancet.com/journals/eclin…

NEW: Police believe a file containing details of hundreds of NHS maternity cases was probably deliberately deleted. Officers said the material, which was temporarily lost by hospitals in Nottingham, was most likely “to be the action of an individual" bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

There's lots of criticism of this in the replies/quotes, and rightly so. But my big question is what on earth are student midwives being taught, and why isn't Nursing and Midwifery Council regulating it properly? Surely lessons from previous maternity inquiries should run through the whole course?

Yesterday I & a group of 14 parents from @safe_maternity met with Wes Streeting. We put our hearts & souls into it, incl hours of meetings & prep over 4 days. I believe we were heard and that Wes understood what is happening in the maternity system - the first SoS to do so.

Hopefully this will also be retrospective to allow circumstances where bodies have be ‘played for time’ to also be addressed.

If only the NHS and those leading its Maternity Services had actually listened to and acted on Bill Kirkup's findings and recommendations back then, just think how many babies and their mothers might still be alive and / or healthy now?🤔
