BT made £1,300,000,000 in profit, handed £750,000,000 to shareholders, and paid its CEO £3,500,000. But then it offers workers a huge real terms pay cut, even as they’re forced to open workplace foodbanks. That’s why CWU members are on strike today. Solidarity ✊🏽

• France: Energy to be 100% owned by the people & price rises of 4% • England: Energy to be 0.00% owned by the people & price rises of 200% Conclusion?

I remember writing this for a Jeremy Corbyn speech in early 2019, warning the Tories were "brazenly rigging" the funding formula to shift money from deprived to well-off areas. No one took any notice. Nice of Rishi Sunak to confirm we were right though.

Private water utilities dumped raw sewage into our rivers & seas 403,171 times in 2020. Not a single river in England passes the legal water quality standards. And they are losing 24% of water through leaks. Yet these wasteful polluters made £2.8bl in profit (from us) last year.

I spoke to protest organisers earlier in the week, and they were confident today would be Britain’s largest protest since 2003. Looks like they were right.

Here’s a man dishing out free food to anyone hungry at today’s #PeaceMarch. Encapsulates the spirit of those who were here to support Palestinian rights.

Where is the outrage now that mass graves have been found in Gaza? Why don’t we know more about the bodies found with hands tied & clothing stripped? Where is the wall-to-wall coverage of this? Where is the international condemnation?

Thirty plus years of dividends instead of thirty plus years of investment. In unrelated news, Southern Water have just texted about 100,000 people in Hastings & St Leonards to tell us they've burst another pipe and soon a whole chunk of the town will be without water for days.

On Saturday the Co-op Group held its annual general meeting, where members voted on a motion to “cease all trading with Israel.” The motion passed with a majority of 72%. Coop has 3735 locations across the UK and the ban could come into effect as early as this summer.

World leaders can make as many statements as they like opposing Israel's actions in Gaza. Until they end the sale of weapons to Israel, they remain complicit in the mass murder of Palestinians. Stop arming genocide, now.

This is too little, too late from the British government who are now desperately trying to save face after more than 18 months of complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza. We will never let them forget their role in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians.
