there is a tendency to frame uni debates as hecs vs anti-hecs, esp those defending current state of affairs. but hecs has changed majorly over decades and pushed a bigger load onto students with price hikes much faster than inflation or wages. its not a unitary timeless system

full priced humanities degrees since job ready graduates is a fundamentally different reality than hecs as it was understood in the 90s
