‘Can I afford to get to cancer treatment?’ Is a question nobody should have to ask. A year ago, we launched our travel costs campaign #RunningOnEmpty but children and young people with cancer, and their families, are still struggling with the costs of getting to treatment.

The #EmploymentBill will make statutory sick pay more accessible by removing the waiting period and lower earnings threshold—good news for young cancer patients needing quick support. But without a rate increase, it still falls short. We can do better.
