Nice atmosphere + attentive service @ Pips Brooklyn + good delicate small plates. 'Lucien Gaudin' cocktail was far too sweet for our tastes but the wines were lovely... Cinsault + Chardonnay.

More Is S'More Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain ... Brownie w/ Chocolate, Vanilla + Coffee Ice Cream covered in Toasted House-made Marshmallow Fluff... what's not to like! We always stop in when we're in the area.

Quick + inexpensive Banh Mi @ Banh Mi Saigon on Grand always hits the spot. Get one, live like a local.

Another great selection of Pizzas una pizza napoletana. Nice that they now allow additional toppings! Service is great but can be a bit over the top (endless unwarranted descriptions of menu items) depending upon your server.

Really nice small plates @ Mokyo EV: Corn Dumplings w/ Fennel + Truffle Salsa Verde, Lobster Roll w/ Truffle Whipped Cheese, Celery Relish + Serrano, Oxtail Springrolls w/ Gochujang, Onion + Chive paired with Maboroshi No Taki Junmai Ginjo. Super friendly/attentive staff as well.

Enjoyed 2 glasses of wine @ Kindred EV > Iuli, Barbera ‘Rossore’, Piedmont, Italy 2016 + Zaro, Refošk, Istra, Slovenia 2015. House Baked Focaccia w/ White Anchovy, Tomato Confit + Black Garlic was NOT Focaccia... more like Pan Con Tomate. Fantastic friendly service!

Quick stop @ Ernesto's LES. Vibrant atmosphere + good wine (filthy glasses). Tosta de Gambas contained dirty (not deveined) shrimp + 1/4" thick Nuestro Tortilla was really weak. Good PR, service + atmosphere but needs to work on the food + details.

Delicious Banana Ice Cream The Chocolate Room + friendly service as always.

The worst meal in recent memory @ Gersi in Brooklyn. Sauteed Calamari was actually boiled + served in a watery/flavorless broth. Homemade Pappardelle with Lamb Ragu was totally overcooked/broken pasta mush with heavily over-salted Lamb. Inexplicably packed?

Another excellent dinner @ Fish Cheeks SoHo. Tiger Prawn Karee, Steamed Whole Fish + Crab Fried Rice. Perfect service as well... finally a server reviewed the specials + let us know which items were NOT available BEFORE we looked over the menus... a rarity for some reason.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly service + well made cocktails @ RECEPTION Bar LES. Ginger Goblin + Matcha Soju shot. A nice change from the other bars in the area... serious mixologists.

Just noticed that Bon Appétit thinks Scarr's Pizza on the LES is amazing. We're around the corner and never go... all hype. Hit una pizza napoletana instead. Different vibe, superior pizza.

Somewhat surprised at some of the local (LES) spots which remain closed, especially coffee shops (Little Canal). Why not continue minimal service to stay connected to the neighborhood?
