New pub alert! Big shoutout to Andrea Tilstra for leading this charge and letting me be a part of this important work.

Patrick Irving, a prisoner in Idaho, published an opinion piece in the The New York Times about inflation in the joint. Well done Patrick! Happy to read new incarcerated voices in the Times. nyti.ms/3gbKwtW

📢 Our paper exploring the impacts of state immigration policy contexts on healthcare use among U.S. agricultural workers is now out in Demography Journal. Grateful to my amazing coauthor Dr. Courtney Boen, PhD, MPH and to the incredible team at Demography Journal for publishing our work!

If you’re looking for a comprehensive dataset on state policies, look no further! Alongside a team of awesome people (including resident super ⭐️ Jennifer Karas Montez), we created a free database to help move #pophealth research toward examining structural determinants of health!👇🏻

It’s surreal to think my book Princeton University Press is real enough to pre-order! I can’t wait to hold her in my hands 😭 #soctwitter #newbooks #AcademicTwitter 👉🏼press.princeton.edu/books/paperbac…

Congratulations Enlace Latino NC!

We are thrilled to share the news that Regina Baker (Regina Baker) will be joining the UNC Sociology faculty as Associate Professor this summer. Welcome, Regina! UNC College of Arts and Sciences UNC Center for Study of the American South @uncpopcenter.bsky.social

I was honored to share the stage with NC State Belk Center's Monica Clark and to meet all the wonderful folks from NC community colleges across the state.

New pub from the Sunny Day Flooding Project team! Our new sensors detected water on the road 24x in 5 months in coastal NC - flooding is happening more often than common proxies (e.g., NOAA HTF counts) suggest b/c we capture the impacts of rain (1/4 of our events were rain + tide).
