Pay attention to yourself... Your higher self is always sending you signs. It knows what you need before your mind catches up.

Toxic stress derails brain development,it is also frozen in the nervous system. The behaviour that we see is the way that their brain has developed & adapted to their environment. That behaviour works well in that environment but does not work well in school, then we punish them๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฑ

Your day isn't just what happens to you - it's how you choose to face it. Make today good by choosing hope, kindness, and a positive heart.

You cannot consequence a pupil out of survival mode.Their brain is not in a place to think & reflect. In these moments, they need connection, safety & co-reg, consequences come later. This is not about being less strict but working smarter. Working with biology, not against it.๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฑ

Pupils are often punished for being emotionally dysregulated. While their brains are still developing, they struggle to manage big emotions & the ability to control impulses. Punishing them for these behaviours won't improve their development. It will fuel frustration & shame.๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฑ

The brain processes and acts on information from the lowest parts. If a young person is dysregulated the cortex isn't accessible, the lower brains more primitive areas under siege will act on these dysregulated feelings & emotions & won't fully process or absorb information๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฑ

You can disagree with someone and still treat them with dignity. We donโ€™t have to agree on everything to agree itโ€™s important to be civil.
