The 2024 Bugs Matter citizen science survey results are in, and they paint a concerning picture. In Kent alone, insect numbers have decreased by a staggering 67% between 2021 and 2024. 😱 But it's not just Kent; nationwide, we've seen a 63% decrease in bug splats on vehicle

New KCC leader Linden Kemkaran tells me the Ukranian flag will be coming down at KCC. She tells me "It's a distraction, we need to sort out our own backyard before we worry about foreign conflicts" She added "We are here to serve the people of Kent not the people of Ukraine."

The Labour govt plans to abolish Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council. Now both the towns of Tunbridge Wells & Tonbridge are likely set up their own Town Councils to run parks & some buildings. Consultations open. See: westkentradio.co.uk/news/west-kent…

£590m for the Lower Thames Crossing is just pouring good money after bad. It's a drop in the ocean compared to what's needed and could be better spent making real life-changing transport investments elsewhere. transportactionnetwork.org.uk/lower-thames-c…

The Lower Thames Crossing would increase collisions, causing 26 more fatalities and 182 serious injuries. This is according to National Highways’ own modelling. transportactionnetwork.org.uk/road-safety-re… #RoadSafety

Did you know that National Highways' own data shows that the Lower Thames Crossing will actually INCREASE fatalities and serious collisions? 😪😡😲

A great blog from Transport Action Network showing how the recent 40% toll increase at Dartford is just the beginning if private finance is used to build Lower Thames Crossing. The Dartford cash cow is being fattened up before it is sold off to LTC investors transportactionnetwork.org.uk/dartford-toll-…

'TAN has done what successive governments, astonishingly, have failed to do: commissioned a report on how demand for freight and passenger transport in the region and on the wider network might best be met.' - great piece by George Monbiot in The Guardian theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Radio Martí is back on shortwave from the USAGM transmitting facility in North Carolina, Monday through Friday, 1400-2200 UTC, 11860 and 13605 kHz (for now). Big signal off the back of the beam all the way up to an SDR in Alberta

Correction: the BBC relay is actually at 1830-2100 GMT. Very good to hear the World Service back on mediumwave across Europe or the first time since 2011.
