69 years of using the same machine for transportation. I know that there are skilled enough mechanics out there that could do the same with a car, but this is a low barrier, low cost, environmentally friendly and healthy mode of transportation that we should encourage everywhere.

Reckless driving in Pittsburgh has gotten out of hand. It's time for people to refamiliarize themselves with Pa. traffic laws — and for local authorities to strictly enforce them... pghcitypaper.com/news/pittsburg…

Every single otherwise brilliant person who believes in “autonomous” cars as urban transport fails the most rudimentary geometry test. It’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen. These people are engineers and mathematicians who don’t understand how physical space works.

What if mobile phone and electronic device use is not the cause of kids failing to play outside, but rather a symptom of parental fear that a fragile man in a massive pickup truck is going to kill their children?

Nick Bosa is a fucking coward. don’t pop up in someone else’s post game interview showing off that weak ass hat then duck smoke when they ask YOU about it directly. true clown.

Car crash injuries and fatalities are a function of probability, geometry and physics. Increasing the dose of driving—which is what happens when you widen highways—increases the probability and intensity of crashes. More driving leads to more pollution and injuries and deaths.

It's the hope that kills you Louise Haigh. New government, new direction, daily evidence of a climate emergency, yet the same old policies neglecting active travel and public transport while enabling fossil fuels.

Man, technically I think "accidents" happen. Brakes fail, maybe someone has a seizure or something. But I also think 90%+ of crashes are distracted or reckless drivers. People should be going to jail or losing their driving privileges in 90% of cases like this one:

A reminder that the ‘15 minute city’ is nothing more than a planning concept that neighbourhoods are designed so most daily necessities and services are within a 15 min walk, bike or bus ride from your home Claims they’re anything more than that are conspiratorial nonsense

don't donate to anymore politicians. or the women's march. donate to local mask blocs. donate to local mutual aid orgs. donate to abortion funds. the dems raised $1 billion for this campaign & it's all gone now. put your $ where it's truly needed.

Plenty of finger-pointing going on, but one group keeps slipping through unscathed: the media. They built Trump up in 2016, cashed in on him in 2020, and continued to normalize him in 2024 despite everything he’s done. Where’s their accountability?

‘Identity politics is dead’ even though Trump won his election on a pure identity politics platform. He offered nothing in terms of policy but lots of in terms of ‘my people are wonderful but those people are vermin and the enemy within’.
