If you are publishing a family doctor's gross billings, without acknowledging his or her astronomical overhead, you are part of the problem, not the solution to the doctor shortage. #doctors #physicians #supportdoctors #healthcarebc #doctorshortage

Anyone else notice a shift in who you are following on Twitter? I am now mostly following/listening to people who believe that the pandemic isn’t over, that we’re on the brink of a second pandemic, and a vaccine only approach won’t save us.

Australia will reach a total of 10,000 COVID deaths this weekend, a little over 2 years since the pandemic hit Australia. By comparison, a bad flu year would have ~1,000 deaths.

The NSW Premier is saying the opposite of what every decent doctor and epidemiologist and scientist is saying. The opposite. He says Covid is nothing. It's less worrisome than the flu. We need people to keep working. We are all being sacrificed to the rich. Do you see it now?

Since Long EBV => multiple sclerosis, long HIV => AIDS, long HCV => liver cancer, long HPV => cervical cancer, What is #longcovid going to turn out to be, especially after multiple reinfections/and for kids ? #covid19 #CovidIsNotOver #auspol

A mask is a small price to pay, to protect those around me and reduce further transmission. Along with vaccination, distancing and ventilation — I’ll be doing my part. I thank everyone doing theirs, too.

I don’t appreciate being interrupted while speaking on serious risks of repeated covid infections. I particularly don’t appreciate being interrupted by shouting LNP MPs who refuse to wear masks. We all have a duty to look after each other. Here & everywhere. Put your mask on!

Voting for a new Royal Australian College of GPs (RACGP) President starts today and the field is large and interesting but we need someone not in the existing RACGP committees and councils as we cannot negotiate with a Covid headwind that got us huges changes under Dr Karen so now we need a savvy negotiator

Lovely patient came in and told me they'd 'solved the #Medicare problem'. "If you just ask everyone for $10 that should help cover increasing costs". They were #flabbergasted when I said that was illegal, and that GPs have been asking for it, but Gov wouldn't change it. #auspol

Dear #hospital Doc, Seeing a patient in clinic, and then telling them to see their GP to arrange bloods & imaging FOR YOU, and have the results forwarded to you including having radiology transfer images across systems, IS JUST LAZY, and possibly not #Medicare rebateable.
