Love my work but sometimes it’s hard. Brought to tears listening to an international nurse talking about how excited she was when she first came & how she lost hope as she was treated with disdain, experience dismissed. She said “we come bearing gifts but…you’re not wanted” 😢💔

Sending so much love to those third years who have resubs to complete. I can imagine how upsetting it must be seeing all the posts but still having work to do. YOUR SO CLOSE! We’re all behind you 💪🏼🫶🏼 #punc20

Dr Dan Warrender I also knew that what I was teaching was not what mental health student nurses wanted or deserved. The Nursing and Midwifery Council standards have lost sight of field specific skills & instead appear to be driven by producing adult 'task orientated' automatons nursingtimes.net/opinion/i-am-h…

Slightly surreal to finally be at the end of this process. BSc ✅ Apprenticeship ✅ NMC registration and pin ✅. All in time to start my new post as a NQN next week. What a three years it’s been 😅. Feel as though it’s not all sunk in yet. So proud of all my #punc20

Let's take about "safe self harm"... clearly a contradiction in terms as there is no "safe" way to hurt yourself and why I think this is a helpful approach for some patients, despite knowing some of my colleagues feel very differently ...

What a day yesterday!! So special and what an ending to a special, rewarding albeit at times terrifying and challenging chapter of my life! I’m a graduate!! Eek! #PUNC20 #PlymGrad #PUNC

Well….. I’m a newly qualified MH nurse (for which I obtained a degree for the privilege),working in a vastly understaffed sector which relies heavily on international nurses ………. I don’t earn £38,700

More and more Australians subject to formal coercion in community mental health services, and nurses are the front line. The first publication (open access) from my PhD studies onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/in…

I hope this is on Nursing and Midwifery Council reading list. People experience the future nurse standards as diluting their fields, and not preparing graduates for the jobs they will do. There needs to be a wholesale revision of standards and how they are implemented. #MHDeservesBetter #SoDoesCYP

Newly qualified Mental Health Nurse Degree Apprentice with University of Plymouth and Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust here 👋. Fabulous opportunity for me, I was lucky to be able to do the 3 year course as my trust now sponsors the 4 year route.

Absolutely!💯 we have a very different skill set and role which needs to be acknowledged and appreciated. My training has not equipped me for the role . It’s taken my own research, resources and support of colleagues to begin to be able to practice as an RMN.
