No history (maybe hematuria on the req?), #bladder lesion, what do you think? Are any ancillary tests needed? #surgpath #pathtwitter #pathology #pathologists

Juniors: Linear/band-like inflammatory infiltrate = high suspicion H pylori. If there is also acute inflammation = higher suspicion. If I don't find them I proceed to the IHC stain. Remember there are also coccoid forms of H pylori! #Tissuetale #pathtwitter

Here are my notes on Pancreatic Pathology. Certain steps like assessing the relationship of the cystic neoplasms with the ducts, CEA & amylase levels are helpful before evaluating the Histopathology. Morphological clues important to diagnose adenocarcinoma. #PathEd #MedEd

🔹Case of the week #8🔹 ▪️Woman in her 80s found to have on CT peritoneal carcinomatosis with unknown primary. ▪️Patient has a history of breast cancer +10 years ago. ▪️Omentum biopsy and immunostains were perfomed. Thoughts? 👀 What am I? 💭 Any idea where the primary is?

Breast biopsies from a BI-RADS 5 lesion ... NST or ILC, that is the question? 😁 The IHC is E-cadherin... #pathology #beastpath

Yesterday's case is emblematic of the problems E-cadherin staining brings forth in the diagnosis of atypical and malignant proliferations of the breast. If we only consider the H&E, I am quite confident the majority of pathologists would diagnose it as invasive ductal carcinoma

Today I made a mistake. A diagnostic inaccuracy. The culprit: me. The cause: excessive pressure from the oncologist. I'd like to think it won't happen again, but... Let the pathologists do their job and not demand answers in a hurry. #PatientSafety #Pathology

Regarding time pressures; I recently refused my clinical colleague’s and MDT coordinators time lines which involved reporting huge numbers of prostate biopsies on a Monday night before the 8am Tuesday meeting. It invited Path error. Safety first for a non urgent Dx!!

I genuinely believe this: Anyone writing or editing a WHO chapter—or influencing its direction—should first spend a few months working in a resource-limited setting. See the reality. Sign out cases. Live the constraints. Until then: ✋ Don’t write another chapter. We sit in our
