Work this week took me to Conne River, Nfld and the Miawpukek First Nation to get a first hand look at indigenous led conservation efforts. Metcalf Foundation parters with the Indigenous Leadership Initiative to support efforts in terrestrial and marine conservation. Incredible work.

We don't need to debate whether it's better to be a generalist or a specialist. The world needs both. Specialists excel at zooming in. They see the details to deepen our knowledge. Generalists excel at zooming out. They see around corners to broaden our view.

At the World Relays in the spring, a reporter asked USA’s Noah Lyles if he saw Canada as a threat in the 4x100m in Paris. “Who? Who?” He laughed it off. With Lyles sidelined, the USA were disqualified today and Canada won gold.

As closing ceremonies for the Olympics happens today, just a reminder that Canada has range. We won gold in swimming, hammer throw (twice), 4x100 and breakdancing. We are strong, buoyant, fast and stylin’. Can’t beat us in land, water or the dance floor. #OlympicGames
