Alistair Steel 🇺🇦🇮🇷 DoctorsVote You put a message out saying “We need an experienced doctor to cover this shift for patient safety. We will pay £100/hr.” And then you escalate the rate until someone is incentivised enough to do it. And if management kick up a fuss, you ask them in an email if they’re happy to

There needs to be harsh rules regarding trusts refusing to pay escalated rates for locum when there’s sickness, especially out of hours, because they don’t want to pay the money. It’s patently unsafe.

I saw a message in a chat (from a consultant 🤮) stating it was on the residents to ensure the wards are covered and staffed, effectively guilt tripping the team into doing work they're not paid to do... No babes, that's on the department and rota coordinators.

This will remain a thorn in his side as long as pay restoration for doctors isn't forthcoming. Paying someone less now based on future earning potential is silly, as is paying someone more now for *lack* of future earning potential.

Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥 @medicalmodelwithabriochebun Mrs C vintendo BS The Leng review Given some Colleges are not wanting to publish recommendations before Prof Leng does (as a non-expert in their field) I'm not hopeful. It doesn't fill me with a sense of pride or confidence in one's own standards if they're waiting to be told what to do by someone else.

This is unsafe, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust Any request to prescribe coming from a non-prescriber should be treated the same. Doesn't matter if it's a PA, a nurse, a patient or a relative - it needs proper assessment by the doctor. This is pressuring doctors to prescribe. It will lead to harm.

Regardless of the trusts financial position...they should be escalating above the manchester capped rates to get staff to meet minimum staffing. It is not acceptable. Please exception report, email guardian of safe working and datix

Clear, simple & to the point 👏👏 It's completely inappropriate to try to bully residents to rubber stamp the requests of PAs. Non urgent requests should go to their named supervisor: who agreed to be responsible for them. These cases show how local governance is a failure.
