York and North Yorkshire is home to some of (probably the best!) countryside and nature in the country, it’s what makes our region so beautiful. Labour have great plans to protect, restore and improve our green spaces and I know Steve and the team are determined to make this

Labour will get Britain building again.🏠 Fantastic to have Keir Starmer in York Outer today visiting Germany Beck, a new housing development in Fulford. Change only happens if you vote for it. Vote The Labour Party on Thursday 4th July!🌹

Please take a moment to have your say on our #LetsTalkRubbish campaign. We're consulting on changes to waste collections across #NorthYorkshire, including adding a second recycling wheelie bin. To take part see, northyorks.gov.uk/your-council/c…

Today I spoke in favour of this government's plans to end public policy and current affairs advocacy roles for MPs. The best job of all is representing my constituents across York Outer in Parliament.

Today, the work to set up GB Energy began. One of the first priorities of GB Energy will be to massively scale up community energy. Energy owned by your community, powering your community, creating profit for your community.

Today, the Chancellor outlined a £22bn black hole left by the Conservatives for this fiscal year. This economic incompetence is why York Outer rejected them and voted for change. That change is more transparency around our public finances - a point I made in the Commons today.

Great to meet with David Skaith this week to talk about all the opportunities we have for the region. Looking forward to working with David and MPs in the region to deliver for our communities.

In #PMQs today, I asked the Prime Minister about the need to build more homes in York Outer. This is why I joined the Labour Growth Group. More housing will lead to economic growth. After years of Tory dither and delay, this Government will build the houses this country needs.

Brilliant few days in Liverpool for #LabourConference It’s not only been an opportunity to meet up with my fellow mayors and chat with ministers, but I’ve also been able to continue to push the positive messages about what York and North Yorkshire has to offer!

The highlight of #LabourConference for me was been able to talk at the Business Panal event along side fellow mayors and really put the case forward for how much our region has to offer. I spoke about York and North Yorkshire being a key player in the food and farming sector,

To mark #BlackHistoryMonth2024, I took a group of amazing students from The Divine Mercy Primary School on a tour of our city-centre to learn about how, in 1862, the humble cotton-workers of Manchester took a stand and refused to handle slave-picked cotton.👇🏻
