For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help. I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).

It will never not be mad to me that working β€œextensively and intensively” to improve the Rwandan asylum system is genuinely presented as a better option than making our OWN asylum system functional. #r4today

TORIES: Yesterday showed foreign courts dictating British laws. TRUTH: Yesterday showed British judges upholding British values. The Tories are lying to you. Again. #StopTheRot

I think it's important to remember which countries have left the ECHR in the past. There are two examples. 1. Greece, between 1970-1974, when it was under military dictatorship. 2. Russia, since September 2022, when Putin invaded Ukraine. Does the UK belong on this list?

Please take three minutes and forty seconds of your time to watch this. It’s an utterly damning (and occasionally πŸ˜‚ ) indictment of thirteen years of Tory neglect, arrogance and incompetence. #GeneralElectionN0W

🚨 NEW: Tory MP Brandon Lewis has taken up his 7th job as an adviser to company part-owned by two sanctioned Russian oligarchs He will be paid £250k a year for advising just one day a week and is now the highest-paid MP [George Thompson]

Worth stepping back to consider that during an economic crisis and a crumbling and overstretched asylum system which costs untold millions because we have to house asylum seekers whilst their claims are (not) being considered our government is now focussed on spending millions in

Happy International Men's Day to all men, especially those who dont think there is one and then don't do anything to celebrate it when they find out there is. As usual I invite you to nominate great men who deserve celebration. My choice this year is Bob Mortimer. High benchmark.

🚨 NEW: The Chancellor told teachers and nurses they couldn’t have a pay rise that might stoke inflation. But what kind of pay rise did landlord Jeremy Hunt award himself? We found out.

The plumbers, the police officers, the nurses, the self-employed, the pensioners: An AS very squarely aimed at voters with big hike in state pension and big cut in NI for 27m workers. An election pitch right there. But reality is govt still taking much more in tax than giving
