To kick off National Poetry Month, we’re revisiting “While Reading Plato During a Lockdown” by Chelsea Dingman—author of I, Divided and Through a Small Ghost—originally published on Dec 18, 2020. We're off to a strong start: epiphanyzine.com/features/2020/…

It's very difficult for me to say that the photo won the World Press Photo of the Year award, because of the painful nature of the image itself, the situation in Gaza City, and the injury that my friend, the photographer Ehab El-Bourdiny,is going through The New York Times World Press Photo

To close out our #NationalPoetryMonth series, we’re celebrating the brilliant Latif Askia Ba (Latif Askia Ba). Listen to him read “24 juillet,” from our latest issue. Thank you all for following along with us this month—we’ve loved sharing these voices with you!

As April—and #NationalPoetryMonth—draws to a close, we return to where we began: Chelsea Dingman’s poem “While Reading Plato During a Lockdown.” It felt only right to end with her voice. We’re endlessly grateful for our poets (and for you). Your words will carry us all year long.

You’re cordially invited to Epiphany’s 2025 Fête—a night of live music, lit-themed cocktails, raffles, and readings by mahogany l browne Founder of WWOC and Fresh Voices Fellow Sidney Logan Echevarria. Don your dancing shoes and join us at The Urbane Arts Club on 6/12. epiphanyzine.com/features/2025/…
