Absolute gutter journalism. Doctors aren't trying their "luck" - we are standing up for pay restoration after over a decade of cuts. It was clear we expected a journey to pay restoration but Wes Streeting has not delivered. The government must be held to account.

Doctors can’t get jobs Physician Associates are doing jobs Doctors should be doing and being paid more Training places are capped and Doctors can't progress in their careers, facing uncertainty Should the BMA expand strike action to cover access to jobs and role dilution? 🧵

A Quebec son supports his mother's state-provided euthanasia because "she’s more and more demanding" due to early-onset Alzheimer’s. This is false compassion. This is dehumanization. This is a national tragedy. montreal.citynews.ca/2025/05/23/que…

Fact Totem Dr Shivam Sharma Wes Streeting You haven’t taken into account the contract change in 2016 which front loaded OOH pay into basic pay whilst remaining cost neutral That’s why you have to look at the pay investment each year which is reflected in individual circulars Which is what BMA methodology is based on

The ballot for full pay restoration and strike action opens today. The doctor you see on a Friday evening treating your child, your parent, your friend - is earning just £17/hr. We’re asking to go to £23/hr. That’s not excessive, it’s a fair rate for a highly trained

Justice Secretary says, “not enough time to debate Assisted Dying Bill”. If you want this Bill to be safe, I hope MPs will think about whether they would be happy to proceed with a similar statement about any other legislation. thetimes.com/article/e90d8b…

You know what’s exasperating The Labour Party? Wes Streeting promised doctors a “journey” to pay restoration - then slammed the brakes. His 0.9% pay offer barely scratches the surface of the 23% real terms pay cuts doctors have faced. At this rate, it’ll take over 20 years just to get

It is not just terminally ill people. This legislation has no 'six months to live' criteria. Those who promote the UK's #assistedsuicide legislation should be honest that they will not stop at the terminally ill, at patient-initiated death, or even at the necessity of consent.

Now ask the public whether they support physician’s associates being paid >30% more than doctors? You’ll first need to inform the public that these “associates” aren’t medically trained or qualified, and that doctors carry the can when they make mistakes. Make it make sense.

You’re not stupid. We’re not stupid. We know that 29.8% is on a background of record breaking inflation. We are still 23% down. Your pay award leaves us 21% down. So we will still be working more than a fifth of the year for free. This is unacceptable.
