After 6 weeks as a Peer Educator with Reach A Hand Uganda, here’s what I’ve come to realize……. 🧵

I’ve seen how a young person’s face changes when they step into a space where they feel safe and empowered, all young people deserve that feeling. The #GNTrybeBraveGirlsFestival by Reach A Hand Uganda is one of those rare spaces where and every one should have the chance to be there.

The #GNTrybeBraveGirlsFestival by Reach A Hand Uganda is one of those spaces where girls and boys come together to question, and to see themselves as leaders in shaping a fairer world. On this #InternationalYouthDay2025, we celebrate every young person who dares to make their mark.

I had the chance to sit down with the amazing students of Namiryango Sec School We shared stories & ideas about how we young people can empower us One key strategy I shared with them was putting yourself in spaces that connect & grow you, spaces like the #GNTrybeBraveGirlsFestival

As we continue to spread the #GNTrybe movement, today at Bishop Cipriano Kihangire SSS I had a great moment with the young people, & one of our discussions was about anti-bullying. We can end the vice by speaking up when we see it, & creating safe spaces in schools & communities #TobaBully

Peer to peer learning especially with young people is more effective when done dynamically. Today in our #GNTrybe peer learning sessions at Bishop Cipriano Kihangire SSS, we were joined by Gazaland UOX who use games and sports to empower young people and promote natural talent. #PEA25

Yesterday, through our FlowWithEase campaign, we had a successsful menstrual hygiene outreach in Mishozi, Ibanda. FlowWithEase is geared towards ensuring menstrual dignity for girls in school breaks. Thank you Reach A Hand Uganda and AFRIpads Foundation for supporting this cause. 1/2

All young people deserve a seat in conversations that discuss empowerment. We must go away from being spectators, but be active stakeholders in our socio-economic development. This is why every young person should participate in the #GNTrybeBraveGirlsFestival by Reach A Hand Uganda
