So I guess I'm doing the 2020's equivalent of "Hey let's start a band", with Vincent Russo and William Slofstra. But instead of playing the next hit pop song we're making podcast episodes to dive deep into quantum computing research :-)

Thank you Jay Jay Gambetta . It's a great honor to be named the inaugural IBM Quantum Research Chair. Grateful for the support from IBM Quantum, Institut quantique, and all the individuals and partners involved for making this possible.

John Preskill A beautiful result! It should be clarified, though, that the construction came from our paper (arxiv.org/abs/2404.12647) -- Robert and Fermi came up with a wonderful way to *analyze* it to show adaptive security. (We proved non-adaptive security).

AI can take many forms, but it's clear that the chat format is the one that has truly taken off. I think this reveals a fundamental truth about human thought: we think best in dialogue, even when our counterpart isn’t human.

We are excited to announce that the long wait is (almost) over! We are finally uploading QIP videos to our YouTube channel! We should get to all of them over the next month or so, but they will be uploaded in a more or less random order. youtube.com/@QIP2025

🚀Today we're launching the 'Night Science Institute', a non-profit to lead a cultural shift in science! You may say we're dreamers, but we think we're not the only ones. Perhaps today you will join us to make the Day Science and Night Science parts of the process live as one! 😉
