Sue Reeve ♥️🧡💛💚💙💜🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈🕊️🕷️🇺🇦 Very sad indeed, 22 years of blood sweat and tears gone down the drain, energy prices, food inflation, interest rates, draconian Covid rules, Brexit all playing it’s part but what’s criminal is the lack of help from UKG.

This has to stop - all sides need to work on a resolution as hospitality workers and businesses in city centres are collateral damage. Even more reason to extend rate relief to give these businesses a break

Tomorrow the Conservatives either start the fight back to winning an election, or they lose it there and then for me. Tomorrow I decide whether I will vote conservative again. Potentially 4M other Hosptiality employers and employees do the same and will be making the same

This is the "reality" and that's with your eyes and ears all over the business!! Without the "quality" food and labour costs, your left with an unsustainable business that nobody wants to visit! Fast food chains will be all that's left!!

For all those out there who keep telling me that Hospitality should "pay their way and asking for a VAT cut is unrealistic" A vat cut to 10% in Hospitality would cost c£4bn (HMRC) - FACT Tax generated by Hospitality in 2022 was c£54bn (UKH) - FACT Hospitality generates

Took yesterday to reflect on the #Budget2024 it's hard to put into words the disappointment and anger at the Conservatives as a party right now. From my own personal point of view I felt the message was clear, it was loud and it was delivered direct to the chancellor. However

1 in 3 hospitality businesses operating at break even as a result of changes and 97% say will raise prices. A similar proportion say they will freeze investment and 85% say it will reduce staff hours/ headcount and wages due to halving of NIC threshold bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

For every £1 spent in Hospitality, 55p goes on VAT and labour. That’s before business rates, energy bills, insurance etc. If you can, please support your local independents this Easter.

2 restaurants closed in Chester over the weekend and that’s just the ones I heard about. Some of us on here are trying to tell people how bad it is in business currently but I don’t think a lot of people really get it. The amount of places closing under the radar is scary
