My thoughts are with all those in OxonFireRescue who have sadly lost 2 firefighters in the line of duty, my thoughts also go to the family, friends and loved ones of both firefighters and the member of the public who also tragically lost their life.

Statement from the London Fire Commissioner, Andy Roe:

Firefighters and Oxfordshire County Council colleagues are today mourning the loss of two firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty while dealing with a major incident in Bicester on the evening of Thursday, 15 May.

It is with the greatest sadness that we express our sincere condolences about the two firefighters in Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service who lost their lives in the line of duty while tackling a large fire at a former RAF base.
