To Tom Pursglove’s credit he was the first DWP minister willing to meet members of families bereaved by its failings - the people affected by Rethink Mental Illness Stop Benefits Deaths campaign. Yet, as aresult of the Rwanda reshuffle here they and we are, starting all over - again. That’s

I’m sure the “pint of wine” will be used in the future as an example by professional mediators to illustrate how ridiculous you end up looking if you find yourself incapable of saying sorry.

That was one of the best games of rugby I’ve ever watched and I suspect that over 80 minutes we saw the emergence of what will become a wonderful Wales team who will carry all before them. They may have lost (happily, for my lot) but what a performance

bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-… - I used to love the story he repeated about a reliable way to measure people’s intellect was to assess how quickly they figured out they were less intelligent than his colleague Amos Tversky. Remarkable man.

It’s always risky meeting your heroes but none could be as charming and generous as the wonderful Armando Iannucci - so I’m delighted to see he’s been honoured with a CBE. Thank you for your astonishing contribution to culture and for everything you’ve done for Mental Health UK

Just received (unsolicited, again) possibly the most pathetic political ad I’ve ever seen. Genuinely teeth-furringly bad. Eesh!

There's so much still to do to tackle disparities in mental health care for Black people. But yesterday's Black Mental Health Manifesto launch event felt like a memorable step in the right direction. Read about the calls within the manifesto here 👉 bmhwa.co.uk

Standing with others in condemning the racist mobs trying to set alight the fire of division. Anyone involved whether on the streets or online does serious mental injury to the families affected by the tragedy in Southport. They are as far from patriotism as it is possible to be.

6am my 26 year old son brings me a cuppa on way to work. “Mum. 2 colleagues have text me to say they’ve been warned not to travel to work today. A black girl and an Asian guy.” He’s genuinely shocked and dismayed. This is real. Its personal. Love will win. You’re not alone.

I share the disappointment of many that community street cleaner Paul Spiers has been told he is unable to accept the gift of a holiday from Beckenham residents My letter to the Leader of Bromley Council. Let’s use some common-sense so Paul can enjoy the holiday he deserves ⬇️

Just had the honour of interviewing the extraordinary Elizabeth Day as part of #WorldMentalHealthDay2024 for Bank of America - such a fantastic hour with a wonderful person, who had so much insight and wisdom around the relationship between mental health and failure.

As CEO of Mental Health UK I’ve co-signed this letter to PM Keir Starmer - we cannot have cuts to the mental health budget when wasting lists are under such pressure. Economic growth depends on helping people who are unwell back to work and this can’t be done by cutting support!
