Dr. Stephen Lam kicked off the #WCLC24 CT Screening Symposium with an insightful talk on #lungcancer screening in British Columbia through the centralized CASCADE program. CASCADE allows participants to either be self-referred or referred by their PCPs across 36 sites!

Dr. Kazuto Ashizawa shared valuable insights at #WCLC24 on #lungcancer screening in Japan! While current Japanese guidelines focus primarily on chest radiography, Dr. Ashizawa emphasized the importance of advancing discussions around implementing population-based LDCT screening.

Dr. Witold Rzyman gave an excellent talk summarizing #lungcancer screening implementation across Eastern & Nordic Europic, including Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden & Estonia. Estonia has an incredibly high uptake of #screening at 87%!! Lots to learn from each of these programs!

Dr. Kazerooni Ella Kazerooni 〽️ gave a terrific talk discussing #screening uptake & adherence in the U.S. Up-to-date prevalence of #lungcancer screening is 18.1% with state variation ranging 9.7%-31%! Still a lot of work to do-our team feeling incredibly inspired to get the rate to 100%!!

Dr. Doug Wood did a stellar job summarizing the outstanding talks from the first part of the CT screening symposium #WCLC24! For the 2nd year in a row, the drop in cancer mortality in the U.S. was driven by #lungcancer! We need screening programs worldwide!!

The UC Berkeley team kicked off the year with their first #PlusOne Campaign event at Sproul Plaza! They spoke to almost 100 people, spreading #lungcancerawareness amongst their peers! We are excited to see all the amazing things the UC Berkeley chapter will do this year!

Dr. Wenhua Liang kicked off the Expanding Eligibility for Lung Cancer Screening session #WCLC24 with a terrific talk on eligibility for screening in Asia. Air pollution, genetic background & lifestyle may explain high #LungCancer among "non-high risk" populations in Asia.

Dr. Randi Williams gave an incredibly important talk on strategies to integrate #smokingcessation within #lungcancer screening! Smoking cessation treatment + screening can reduce #lungcancer deaths and increase life-years gained compared to screening alone!!

Such a treat to hear Dr. Erica Warner's terrific talk at #WCLC24 on the Fire Health Study, which screens firefighters in Boston to understand lung appearance and heart health among this population!! Our ALCSI team has loved sharing about this amazing study at community events!!

Congratulations to ALCSI's Alex Potter Alexandra Potter for giving a wonderful presentation at #WCLC24 on treatment patterns and survival of screen-detected lung cancer in a US national sample from SEER-Medicare vs. the National Lung Screening Trial!! We are so proud of you!!

Dr. Mike Gieske Michael Gieske, M.D. gave a phenomenal talk the #lungcancer screening program St. Elizabeth. A testament to the program's dedicated nodule management team and nurse navigators, there has been an incredible shift towards earlier stages of disease diagnosis!! So impressive!!

Terrific presentation by Dr. Narjust Florez on the incredible work being done by Dana-Farber Cancer Care Equity Program's #lungcancer screening initiative to increase equity in screening among local marginalized populations! 85% of patients completed their FIRST #screening!!

Amazing job to the Rice chapter for hosting this successful Plus One event!
