Our UT Austin chapter hosted an event with the Bridging Discipline Program! The team led a presentation on #lungcancer & engaged in discussions about #lungcancer awareness and screening practices, while also crafting cards for lung cancer patients 🤍 Great work!⭐️

.Alexandra Potter and Priyanka Senthil just published a study in The Annals of Thoracic Surgery showing that the 10-year OS of #NLST pts undergoing lobectomy for stage IA NSCLC was 58%. Nearly 1 in every 4 pts died from #lungcancer during the 10 years after lobectomy.

The The University of Chicago team recently went to a local Taco Bell to give a presentation to the Taco Bell employees about #lungcancerscreening and risk factors. The team then tabled at the restaurant and spoke to customers about the INSPIRE study! #screeningsaveslives

Last week, our Boston team shared #lungcancer #screening resources at the American Red Cross Food Pantry. We were moved by the stories shared by many families affected by lung cancer and will be back soon to continue spreading the word about #earlydetection !!
Our The University of Chicago chapter tabled at the Hyde Park Food Pantry and the Centro Communitario Juan Diego Food Pantry to teach community members about #earlydetection ! The team spoke to folks waiting in line about #lungcancer , #riskfactors , and lung cancer screening eligibility!

Today, Deepti Srinivasan represented Mass General Surgery at the clinical science session of Harvard Surgery Research Day. She presented on #lungcancerscreening : under the USPSTF guidelines, only 57% of SCCS pts undergoing surgery & 59% of stage IV pts would’ve been eligible for screening.
