Of the 33,000 people diagnosed with cancer every year in Uganda, only 7000 seek care at Uganda Cancer Institute. WHO Uganda supported Ministry of Health- Uganda to develop guidelines on the screening & treatment of precancerous lesions.

Over 4.4 million youth in #Ugandaare exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, affecting their health. In 2022-23, World Health Organization (WHO) & Ministry of Health- Uganda trained 172 enforcement officers & trainers to raise awareness on smoking in public places.

I was pleased to host Hon Hermann Gröhe & KAS Uganda & S.Sudan team at WHO Uganda, where we discussed the German gov't contribution during #Ebola outbreak & #COVID19 . We also explored areas of collaboration in strengthening district health systems, climate change & migrants' health in #Uganda .
