Did Nick goatman's Frampton pools this evening & it was dead. I'd almost completed the circuit & met Gordon Hodgson he'd found a male Redstart✅in the field S of the sailing lake. Then we found a very late Fieldfare. Also 30 Tufties, Common Sand, Bullfinch & 2 Sand Martins. #GlosBirds
Slimbridge Sightings South Lake: 2 common sandpiper, crane sitting tight on nest. Avocets mating. No med gulls visible among black-headed. #glosbirds
Estuary Tower- 6 Curlew, 2 Wheatear, 8 Redshank, 10 Lapwing and two additional 'new-in' Ruff on the Dumbles.
Rushy Hide- Little-ringed Plover on the top pond island.
South Lake- Little-ringed Plover, 66 Black-tailed Godwit, 60 Avocet, nesting Crane, Teal and Shoveler #GlosBirds
A Short-eared Owl flushed at Saul Warth at 7:20am. It flew across mud towards Frampton/Slimbridge. (Roy Widgery). #GlosBirds
Tack Piece- two Common Sandpipers + another in the Rushy.
Estuary Tower- Spoonbill in flight coming in from the North but unsure where it ended up settling.
Marsh Harrier male hunting over the reserve ranging widely #GlosBirds
Estuary Tower- males Wheatears- just E of scrape and another Middle Point, Whimbrel with 14 Curlew, feeding Black-headed Gulls, a few Redshank and Lapwing on the Dumbles.
Top New Piece- nesting Crane.

Rushy Hide/Peng Observatory- Spotted Redshank (has also been on Tack Piece), 6 Redshank and 22 Avocet + singe Oystercatcher.

Spotted Redshank at Slimbridge today. Another week and it might be perfectly black(?), but will it stick? Quite like this speckled black intermediate plumage though #GlosBirds
These individuals always worry me, but I believe the flanks on this wagtail look suitably pale (& prob darker due to angle) to pass the alba-test. Lots of 'intermediate' Pieds around at the moment to confuse... Slimbridge Sightings #GlosBirds #AllWhiteOnTheNight

Three 3cy Mediterranean Gulls on South Lake this afternoon, best views from Discovery Hide + Common Sandpiper still.
