I still remember every book my 4th grade teacher, Mr. Lombard, read aloud to my class, and those books remain some of my favorites to this day. If that doesn't speak to the importance and power of reading aloud to kids of all ages, I don't know what does.

#4thchat A1: Establishing clear, consistent routines sets the tone for the entire year. Informing parents is also key! Modeling is putting it in students muscle memory and makes it fun!

#4thchat A5: Morning check in, what to do with completed work, what to do when finished with work, lining up to name a few

#4thchat A6: We have a school wide PBIS plan in place so follow a lot of that for positives and discipline. Can do our own classroom rewards in addition to school wide.

A1: We have to work as a team for student success. Clear communication is key for a successful team effort to help students achieve. I want my parents to feel comfortable asking for clarification and help if needed with their child's education. #4thchat

A2: We have an agenda book that Ss fill out at the end of each day. I sign and parents are to review and sign each eve. I do a quick check in AM to look for notes etc. #4thchat

A4: For me sometimes it is defeat. When I have tried repeatedly to interact and plea for support and do not get it. Hard not to give up. I do keep trying, but not as heartfelt. I think sometimes for teachers time is also a factor. #4thchat

Emails, texts , and calls work 90% of the time for most! I too give my cell to parents so they can contact me as needed. I am considering DoJo this year and will use remind. #4thchat
