A student told me today they could not wait to come to my class. So when asked how I feel about starting blended learning/teaching this week, my answer is 'Absolutely fulfilled and reassured that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.' #igtbac #hereforthestudents

I asked students about the importance of MLKJ and the civil rights movement, and one student wrote, "I am reminded of it everyday because I can literally sit anywhere I want, next to whoever I want, and there are no consequences for it." Wow - such a powerful statement.

Blended learning has been...interesting! In this particular class, I have 2 students on M/T & 13 students on TH/F (15 students CDA). This kiddo really wanted to take apart a computer, so that we did! So excited to have the A & B students back together next week!

If nothing else, I truly hope I inspire my students to continue to learn outside of the classroom and into adulthood. This is why I do what I do... #igtbac

We're taking out working Chromebook screens from old Chromebooks to be used as replacement screens in the future. The students are LOVING the hands on work!

Programming kiddos had an unplugged activity outside today. Sometimes we must "disconnect to reconnect". So grateful for an amazing school with fantastic outdoor spaces! #IGTBAC

Computer Fundamentals class turns into The Chromebook Crew on Wednesdays 💻 Today we identified motherboards, batteries, CPUs, speakers, and everything thing else in between. What a privilege it is to teach them #IGTBAC

Today a student told me that I am, "the teacher at GMHS most likely to be a robot." Honestly not sure how to take this and I didn't realize students are now handing out superlatives to teachers, but at least robots are on the topic of technology...?

Programming students are learning about the internet & networks. Today we closed our Chromebooks and created human networks using string. One student was chosen to be the central 'access point'. Lots of laughs, lots of fun! #gmhs #IGTBAC

It might seem silly, but this week we're learning about the importance of CLEANING our electronic devices! Students all had the opportunity to clean their phones and Chromebooks in class and everyone participated! Clean devices, happy teacher 😁

Networking lab complete ✔️ Students untwisted wires in a network cable, put the wires in order, and placed new ends on the cable (easier said than done). They then tested their cable to see if it provided an internet connection. A bit of a mess, but oh so fun! #igtbac

In Programming class, students are learning about binary code. In this particular activity, I asked them to represent 7 in as many ways as possible. Despite it being 7:30am, these students tackled the challenge and I was blown away by their creativity! #igtbac

Chromebook repair and exploration day. Phones are out of hands 🙌, they're working with tools and electronics 💻, lots of giggles and smiles and "wooooow cool!" moments. I love my job. #igtbac
