Weeks of blockade and now MSF is forced to suspend travel to projects and flights in and out of Sana’a due to heavy fighting. For Yemen’s population, caught in the middle of the violence, it’s another day they can’t get to hospitals.

Fighting remains rife in Sana’a and other locations. Scores dead & wounded. Red Cross staff unable to move so far. ICRC reminds all parties to spare civilians, facilitate evacuation of wounded, retrieval dead bodies, treat detainees with respect.

Eerie calm this morning. Yesterday, I was able to access places most affected by fighting, close to ICRC Yemen Office. Red Cross and Yemeni Red Crescent team may now cautiously attempt to help most vulnerable for the first time in 72 hours.
