Horribly disappointed to find that Iโ€™ve received my last choice group. Iโ€™ve obviously got a poor ranking so it feels futile ranking these jobs? Iโ€™m constantly having to lower my expectations! And itโ€™s so cruel weโ€™re having to do all of this during our exams O

Back in August I raised concerns with one of the directors at my trust that junior doctorsโ€™ ID badges were poorly worded - they all said โ€œtraineeโ€ and none said โ€œdoctorโ€.

Recently received this email and Iโ€™m genuinely both shook & delighted that I managed to make change happen!

Newly Qualified Doctor salary: ยฃ32,398
Core hours: 40/week

Disparity:

ยฃ11,176 (34.45%)
Plus 2.5 hours/week

Newly Qualified Doctor: ยฃ15.58

Alicia Kearns MP Itโ€™s still a pay cut taking into consideration the 30% pay cut suffered over the last decade.
Of course 10% feels like a lot when youโ€™re paid as much as you are, come and live in our shoes for at least one shift and then feel able to judge.

It is nearly 2024. Bullying still continues right under our noses.

In many other professions they would be fired immediately. Instead I have yet to see a senior disciplined or fired during my time in the NHS. The system is wrong!

'Pathway' innuendo without specifics is unhelpful. It picks out PA school as directly comparable to UG Medicine.

Adds to perception/confusion that PA school is 'medicine in 2 years' that minority of PAs have.

They have different outcomes & up to GMC to enforce these.
