On Sunday we celebrated Ruth Gates. Her ashes were scattered by family and close friends from the Hōkūleʻa. The intimate ceremony was surrounded by boats with everyone scattering flowers into the ocean to wish her farewell. Her enthusiasm and love of the ocean will live on.
