So when #HS2 was approved I was shouted down by RAIL Magazine and Paul Bigland #FBPE, that I was talking rubbish when I said costs would spiral. Bigland especially took pleasure in mocking anti-HS2 protestors... who’s laughing now? Well over budget, failing CEO and still a waste of money!

Michael Byng on BBC Radio 4 currently estimates Phase 1 of #HS2 to cost entire #HS2 budget at £55.95b! No doubt RAIL Magazine and especially their most vocal contributor Paul Bigland #FBPE will state he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Value for Money... yeah right!

It’s interesting to note that HS2 Ltd have written an article in RAIL Magazine outlining how they are already looking at cost cutting measures on Phase1 of #HS2. This includes fewer trains and slower speeds; all before any construction has even started! Cost/Benefit worsening...

So #Crossrail gets a £1.5bn bail-out, Grayling is likely to choose the worst of all Pennine upgrades, and still there are fools out there who thinks #HS2 will be built in budget and on-time...
