Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that all the “pro democracy, pro free speech, anti-political persecution” Republicans on X seem to be ignoring what’s happening in Turkey? By the way, this platform is reportedly banning accounts reporting on these massive protests

What kind of heartless, cruel, and uncaring people would not return this man to his family? This is a national disgrace, and it allows trump to take anyone away with no reason. This has to happen. "Trump asks Supreme Court to block order requiring US to bring back man

This is your daily reminder that the Trump admin has never offered even a single piece of legal justification for what they’re doing in El Salvador. There is not a single law in the entire United States Code which authorizes paying other nations to imprison people. It’s illegal.

The minute I saw the glossy fear porn video of El Salvador prison we knew it was the case to test the courts. The final piece to end democracy. And sure enough, they are not complying and who is going to challenge them? Even SCOTUS is powerless

The gov't's arguments against returning Abrego Garcia should make your blood run cold. The gov't claims if it can ship a person to a foreign jurisdiction, they're gone. There's no limiting principle. It can make these arguments for intentional renditions of U.S. citizens. 1/

So this is where we’re at. Our government can send anyone to a foreign concentration camp (where you may be tortured, murdered, and will likely never leave). I never imagined we’d get to this point. The end of the USA as we know it. There is no coming back from this.

The NYT looked into 238 names shipped to El Salvador for allegedly being gang members. They find evidence that 32 committed serious crimes. The rest appear to have had minor infractions or no known criminal record or documented gang ties at all. This is simply a war crime.

A few facts regardless of what side of the due process/deportation debate you're on raised by Vance: 1) Only reason Abrego Garcia case is a controversy is an immigration court blocked his deportation, and Trump Admin admitted he was "mistakenly" picked up by ICE. 2) SCOTUS

The El Salvador story is less about Abrego Garcia himself than about the right to due process. The assault on Harvard is less about the school itself (there are and will be others) but attempted federal control of private universities. The assault on law firms is less about

I have thoughts. I am so sick of the far right and their tired blah blah blah loads of bull 💩pretzel twisting propaganda. We are not fighting for an MS-13 gang member. We are FIGHTING for every single person on US soil to have their Constitutionally protected right to due

It is clear that there’s a big lie about “illegal immigration”, and they’re grabbing the most vulnerable people, tricking people who are on their legal path to citizenship, separating families, because they can’t easily find the real criminals and there aren’t that many.

Elfi Glass (@elfiglass) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If you’re cheering on people being “deported”, you’re not a true American. People who’ve been here since childhood, or married to US citizens, or who’ve been here years or decades, working, having their own home, family and community here. Citizenship doesn’t make you better.

Tired of seeing misinformation passed around in the form of faulty charts and cherry-picked data, and even more frustrated that so many people believe it. Here’s the real data. I was one of the many people so shocked by the 2016 presidency that i voted for the first time in 2020.

If French immigrants were being targeted like Mexican immigrants, I’d wave a French flag too. That doesn’t mean I love France more or hate the US. It means I care about justice. Waving the Mexican flag in protest is more patriotic than yelling “go back to Mexico.”

It's wild that we have a president who refers to the governor of the most populous state as "Newscum" and everyone in his party is just fine with that behavior. They've just completely ceded the idea that a person in that position of power should act dignified or morally.

I’m sorry for the long post but a lot of you have followed me for a long time, since 2016 when I was one of the first to repeatedly call out Trump for being a Russian asset. I don’t know how else to say this, as a person who has studied cults (wrote a bestseller about it) and
