On Wednesday, 30th July 2025, the Branch successfully hosted the Inaugural Senior Bar High Tea Event at Radisson Blu Hotel, Upperhill. The event convened senior members of the Bar for an evening of appreciation, reflection, and meaningful professional engagement.

Led by the Branch Chair, Mr. Eric Kivuva, we participated in a two-day Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Seminar held at Emara Ole Sereni, themed “Demystifying Mobile Technology”. The seminar convened legal practitioners and experts to examine the evolving interface

between mobile technology and the law. In his address, Mr. Kivuva commended the CPD Committee and all stakeholders involved in the planning and successful execution of the event. He acknowledged the pervasive impact of technology across all facets of life

and emphasised the legal profession’s critical role in providing thought leadership in this era of digital transformation. He further called upon legal practitioners to take an active role in shaping responsive legal

and policy frameworks on key issues such as data protection, cybersecurity, digital finance, and consumer rights.

On Friday, 1st August 2025, the Branch participated in the NLA Advocates BBQ Event at Bonds Gardens Restaurant, Upper Hill. The event offered a relaxed yet purposeful platform for Advocates to engage, reflect, and commemorate collective milestones within the legal profession.

Earlier today, Mr. Eric Kivuva, Branch Chair, the Law Society of Kenya President Madam Faith Odhiambo and Council Member Caroline Khasoa attended the Kenya Judiciary Academy (KJA) Round Table Breakfast Meeting, alongside other key stakeholders in the justice sector.

Mr. Kivuva expressed gratitude to the Kenya Judiciary Academy for involving the Law Society of Kenya in planning its calendar year.

He underscored the importance of training judges in criminal justice and encouraged KJA to equip judicial officers with the courage to tackle cases fearlessly and with integrity.

Madam Faith Odhiambo emphasized the need to strengthen the quality of judicial writing, urging KJA to focus on enhancing judges’ ability to deliver clear, cogent judgments and decisions.

She also proposed collaborative training initiatives between the Bar and Bench on critical thematic areas.

The Law Society of Kenya remains committed to working hand in hand with like-minded partners to advance capacity building and professional development within the legal fraternity.
