Yo, Tourette's can be context dependent. You can yell certain slurs by seeing certain people, but it's not like a release of inhibitions like alcohol, it's more like taboo word association. Like you can see a couple and go "He's cheating on you." It's not a true belief.

Apparently there are a lot of people around today who are under the impression that Tourette’s is something that can be controlled. I wonder if these are the same people who would tell someone with chronic depression to just 'cheer up'?

Roughly 10 years ago, I had supper with a few friends & quite a large number of people I didn’t know, & one man brought his fiancée who suffered from severe coprolalia (a form of Tourette’s, where your brain makes you involuntarily blurt out inappropriate & offensive things.)
