It’s amazing when by total fluke you buy the house next door to the man who built your grandma’s house. For him then to gift you, as an English teacher, her annotated Coleridge collection,it’s even more special. Never got to meet her, but tonight I feel much closer 💕

Already familiar with Ebbinghaus’s Forgetting Curve, but the addition of the annotations on this version from Doug Lemov doesn’t just tell you what may happen, but more importantly how you can prevent a significant amount of it from happening. Jon Tait Kate Jones

I've got 3 copies of #theboyquestion to give away. To be in with a chance of winning one, simply retweet, then reply with the most memorable question a student has ever asked you. I'll pick 3 winners from the best answers at 6pm on Sunday.

Day 18 - we’re really focussing on improving reading fluency. Children have loved devising a code and using their coloured pens to highlight their texts as we echo read. Lots of previously unconfident children volunteering to read aloud.
